NB Holidays, part 3

Ladies and Gents,
If you have perused the New Babbage calendar of holidays on the main page of this esteemed forum, you might have noticed that our first holiday is rapidly approaching. Charles Darwin Day is April 19th. So what should we do? Raise a toast at the pub? Have a party? Throw some monkeys around? (My somewhat sincere apologies to all the monkey lovers out there.)

The next holiday seemed to generate more discussion in the forum and that is May 1, May Day. Again, ideas to recognize that day?

Now that we have New Babbage holidays, it behooves us to celebrate, if not April 19, then certainly May Day. On a personal note, I would like to meet you all in world and a celebration would provide the perfect opportunity for us to gather. I will have to be on the lookout though for the villains who have been following me so I might be a tad twitchy. . . .

The Town Square might be an ideal locale for a Darwin Day party or picnic, plus there's the added fact that the Paleontology Museum is right nearby. L'Algiers and the piers of Innsmouth Island out in the Vernian might be a good place for a May Day clambake, seeing as how its so connected to the Worker's Party.

Charles Darwin day sounds like the perfect time to break ground on the new wing of the museum! We just purchased the lot that runs along the east side of the square, and will be adding the Edward Drinker Cope wing to the back of the museum in the near future (and probably doing a slight rebuild of the whole museum, as we've become a little better at the building since last July).

I will try and set out a place for gathering in the empty parcel, if nothing else, by Saturday.

The parcel in front of our new one is also open right now (or was, as of last night).
It would be wonderful to see a complimentary build in there... If only it were easy to make decent looking taxidermy animals in SL! It'd be the perfect spot for a "shop of curiosities" or somesuch beast.

I haven't seen anything "official" announced for New Babbage yet. So I'm planning on the gathering at Tesla, if I am able to be in-world in time.

Unfortunatly Miss Puchkina, my rl commitments have monoplized my time, and as such, I am not able to engage in any planning. However, if any individual or groups of individuals wish to do so, by all means post!
