Does anyone know where I can get a set of New Babbage textures, such as the one used for pavement? The kiosk in the Town Hall seems to be broken.

The kiosk in the town hall requires you to have the Engineers of New Babbage as your active group when you use it. Unless you knew that, then it is definitely broken.

Speaking as Maceholder for a moment, might it be time to re-fill the texture machine in City Hall? I have to say that its contents are somewhat ... thin. And out-of-date too. Perhaps we consolidate all the textures folks are willing to donate to the common cause and then get permission to add them to the machine. Does the Clockwinder have permissions to do so, I wonder?

Do it, Maceholder! :D

Do it! I'm making a box of the 3 most common asked for to give out when people buy land along with a sidewalk section and a notecard about some things that need to be said to new residents.
Some of the textures are licenced for city use only, should we go no transfer on them?
AND...
I have a hundred or so building photos I took in the extremely Victorian city of Auckland, many facades dating from 1881. It will take a lot of combing to pull anything useful out of them, but if people are willing to dig through them, I *suppose* I can max out a flickr account for it. Anyone interested?

I have and can make some textures to donate for city use. No transfer would work fine, I think.

Those photos, Mr Tenk, would be very welcome. It would be great to be able to use those for making textures for city use. (Unless I missunderstood.) I live in Sweden and we don't have any "Victorian" houses or anything Victorian at all.

The no-transfer thing can play hell with certain texture sorters as they require any textures being searched for to be full perms.

That said I don't use them as it would require me to go through and rename piles of individual textures rather than the large numbers of folders they've been sorted into. I tend to end up throwing up about 20 flat prim samplers and texturing them while looking for what I need. It's possibly more time consuming but less so than renaming 1/3 of my inventory.

Mr. Tenk:
Would no transfer on the textures mean no transfer on the builds they are used in? If so, that could cause some hitches. When Albus sold me Loner Lane, the builds (and tenants) came with it, which include pavement and such. That presents a con, but the issue of textures being created to be unique to New Babbage could far outweigh that concern. And although it involves a touch of work, there is a way to get around that for New Babbage residents. However, as I am unsure about the scripting involved in the kiosk, Mr. Pearse's comments may indeed be quite valid, and render the point moot. Your call Mr. Clockwinder.

On the building photos, the inspiration and reference material alone could be useful. The more skilled could probably create a fair amount of material for textures.

Maceholder Cleanslate:
Do it. Do. It. Do-it-do-it-do-it-do-it-do-it-do-it-do-it-do-it! I hope my opinion on the matter isn't too vague.

Ms. Capalini:

Nice to know I'm not alone. I'm just glad I didn't shoot the kiosk. Much.

Ms. Viv and Mr. Oller:
I believe I've been able to retrieve the full library from the kiosk now, thanks to Ms. Frye's advice. I I find I'm missing something though, I'm greatful for your offer of assistance.

agree on all points. not all the common textures are in the machine, a lot of them appear to be from the old city hall build.

I'd really hate seeing our cobblestone on someone else's terrain. so far everyone has been good about not abusing it.
