Last night, rabbit Vash looked under a deckplate in the Vernian tubes and found what I'd lost, a 1/100 scale model map of sim #8. I must have built over it while I was deprimming the place. Out of sight, out of mind, as the sailor says when stowing for sea. It had been there all the past week. Kaylee caught me working on it so she was not allowed to look for it. It is on display on the eastern end of the seawall in Port Babbage.
Sim #8 is a harbor.
#8 will be transitioning to a new area of town known as the Old Quarter, which will eventually see the completion of the palisade wall. The old quarrter is tightly built with narrow streets, as in the centers of old European cities. Builds in the old quarter will be a departure from what has previously been seen in New Babbage archetecture. Consider smooth european stuccos inlaid with ornate brickworks and stone, high narrow facades, overhanging top stories, archworks. Builders will find new challenges here, as freestanding buildings are not to be expected. North American may have a harder time visualizing the archecture, i would suggest googling images of the old-towns of Stockholm, Gdansk, Prague, Lisbon, Hania, and Copenhagen to get the gears going. A warning to non-builders: I have not seen any prefabs available in this style. Snow will still come, best ignore that impulse to go mediterranean.
The harbor was built after the clockwork renaissance, during the close of the great age of exploration. This was the dot-com boom of the 17th century, when speculators sent ships out in search of new land to establish profitable colonies and trading outposts. For the first time, outsiders established themselved peacefully in our city to buy metals and inventions from our famed tinker forefathers. The wealth that flooded into the city during this period became the founding money of the great industrial families of our current age.
------------------------------------------------------------
Now down to business.
The sim will be purchased when I am comfortable with the amount of land reserved.
Prim bonus is 2.08
Land buy-in is set at L$7 per square meter.
You may reserve land by paying the purchase price of the land, plus 2 weeks tier.
Non-landed "sea rights" may be reserved for L$1000 plus 2 weeks tier.
The 2 weeks tier will start when the land is ready to build on and i install the meters.
Notecard or IM me, Mosseveno Tenk, with your offer. Pay me after i tell you i have accepted your offer. The sim model will be notated as parcels are reserved.
---------------------------------------------------------
see notecard in world for parcel breakdown because i don't feel like formating an html table here.
note: sea rights may be used on land, sea, or air.
note: final numbers on prims and tier may vary by a digit or so, according to how the land chooses to calculate it.
