oh, i hardly remember i WAS in another university: i spent the years from 1887 to 1894 at the hessian "school of applied arts". we had brass-, copper- and iron-workshop classes, drawing and daguerreotype training, did moldmaking, casting and cupping under the supervision of some of the greatest engineers of their time. and i was able to work at some of the early difference engines, manufactured under licence in cupertino.

Hey everyone.
I'm new to the forum and reasonably new to New Babbage, but I've been steampunking for a long while. I've always been a Difference Engine (Gibson + Sterling) fan, and I hadn't seen any actual Engines built in SL so I've been hacking some together for sale at my shop in the Mermaid Arcade - Port Babbage (161, 221, 111). Let me know what you think!

I had an idea for an invention that I may try to build later. Imagine a small clockwork ball, steam-powered, with brass wings, that hovers near you and follows the prim you wear on your shoulder, (wrist, etc.) around - but with physics rather than llSetPos(). It should chug and click when it's nearby. If it ever gets more than 10 meters away from you it should just die, and the unit you're wearing should rez another copy. I picture it looking like a Harry Potter snitch. What do people think?

I tend to make small items for everyday use, and could do with the help of a scripter for these items to be used.
I'm happy to co-operate with others on building parts for a project, or handing over textures if I have the permissions on them. I'm also an abstract digital artist, and have a few textures suitable for camouflage etc.
