What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
I have arrived with my sisters, Peace and Katy, seeking a fresh start in what seems like a lovely town. ((IRL - I am a chemical engineer and know my steam tables - :-) ))
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
I am originally from New York, where I grew up with my parents and my two sisters, Katy and Peace. Our family has been under stress these past few years. Both of our parents have deceased. Our mother was a concert pianist. Mother had an unfortunate death when she was reaching inside her piano to adjust a string and the lid fell down and struck her on the head. A few years later, our father - an engineer and inventor of sorts, was killed in his workshop when a steam engine exploded. The Pennyfeathers were at one time quite comfortable and well known in New York. After our father's death, Katy- my older sister - was named executrix of the will. She was wonderfully bright and Father trusted her with the money, sure that she would take care of Peace and me (who were both minors at the time). But when riding one day, Katy fell off her horse and had a blow to the head. SInce then, she has grown quite strange. Katy's odd behavior is one of the reasons we had to leave NY (the poor dear now has delusions and believes herself part of the French aristocracy). Unfortunately, Katy was able to squander much of the inheritance before I was able to take control. But now that I am in charge of our family, I have moved with Katy and my little sister Peace (who is only 10 years old, and has a penchant for pyrotechnics) to Babbage. I am hoping our family will have a fresh start in Babbage.

Might I make so bold as to introduce myself. I happened upon your touching account of your troublesome past and remembered a quirky childhood event whereby my inquisitive but youthful head became entrapped amidst a tangle of snapped piano strings in my parents' leaky loft. Hilarity ensued as you might imagine.
I trust you find my own history of interest, if not nearly as tragic as your own.

Ah yes! Ms Bergamasco is putting together some arrangements for ice skating and similar festivities - she had the idea of 'freezing over' part of the Vernian Sea and holding things there, but I believe that your park and Shay's Park in Babbage Canals are also options if that doesn't pan out. I'm sure she'll have some final decisions soon.

Hello sister I signed up and left a bit of description which you shouldn't read but that's not really important it's more important that I did it so you don't have to worry about it I found a place that sells espresso and it also has some neat candy I lost the landmark but found the candy I gotta run though.
