What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
I am a simple friendly SeaBreeze ( my friends call me Breezy) I came upon New Babbage thru acquaintances and friends In my own explorations of Sl I have found the entire New Babbage and Sl Steampunk quite endearing and remarkable in creative thought and warm friendly characters each one of you I have met thus far has been most kind to me !! Most refreshing indeed ..
I have a great respect for the creators artists and authors of this time period and each of YOU that continue to do so !!
I wish to expand grow and learn and I can not think of a more exciting safe comfortable place to do so ( warm smile)
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
I am a coastal gal from far away New to City dwellings indeed .. How exciting this new Life shall be ...
A sea-breeze (or onshore breeze) is a wind from the sea that develops over land near coasts. It is formed by increasing temperature differences between the land and water which create a pressure minimum over the land due to its relative warmth and forces higher pressure, cooler air from the sea to move inland.
The sea is warmed by the sun to a greater depth than the land due to its greater specific heat The sea therefore has a greater capacity for absorbing heat than does the land and so the surface of the sea warms up more slowly than the land's surface. As the temperature of the surface of the land rises, the land heats the air above it. The warm air is less dense and so it rises. This rising air over the land lowers the sea level pressure by about 0.2%. The cooler air above the sea, now with relatively higher sea level pressure, flows towards the land into the lower pressure, creating a cooler breeze near the coast. The strength of the sea breeze is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the land and the sea. If the environmental wind field is greater than 8 knots and opposing the direction of a possible sea breeze, the sea breeze is not likely to develop.ah perhaps you thought SeaBreeze a Drink ( grins not this one)

Thank you for that abundance of information, Ms. Breezy. I am most grateful. I do hope that you shall be available to visit our shop some time when I too might enjoy your company. Until then, if you ever need anything, please feel free to call on myself, the Doctor or the Chef. You said that you are our new neighbor...where is is that your establishment is located, ma'am?

I have been woefully remiss at welcoming you aboard. Do forgive me. I am so happy that you have decided to take up residence in Babbage, but I fear that if you are to tutor young Poopdeck, you have a monumental task ahead of you.

Gorgeous, Miss Carver!...."delightful character?" you flatter me! reprobate, scalliwag, murderess (unproven!), and dilettante... those things i have been called...thusly i am thrilled beyond measure to be called a "delightful character" by one such as charming and accomplished as you...[smiles back warmly] thank you for your kind welcome! it's wonderful being here!...it just feels right.

dear lady..you know making a pirate blush with untold glee & happiness is just NOT fair! STOP! [grins and shakes her head]....

but i must confess being part of this Ning has been just delightful (and addictive!) and it confirms to me everything i have thought about New Babbage and it's amazing residents and ardent visitors... (and don't tell Des!)... i find that it's richer, more complex, atmospheric, and more FREE than Caledon...which of course, i still love but could never picture myself living there as welll....umm a lady pirate!
i make too many gaffe's, have a salty tongue, and am such an incorigible coquette that i shock those good people on ISC often...[grins] of course i ADORE doing that! but still....
so New Babbage has been like an epiphany to me of late...
i might just have to rent a small loft there for myself! though i do adore my gorgeous ship (and home sim!)...i can't help but wonder if there is large dockage space in deep water for a ship like mine...Hmmmm

anyway thank you for your kind words...you are a darling!

((and you're from RL pirate waters? that is SO brilliant! i'm jealous!....i do RL historic re-enactment of 1710 Queen Anne's War Privateers! check out my blog for some RL pics!))

grog's on me! (usually by the end of the night, anyway!)

((one of my non-SL friends asked me to show pics of my ship and my AVA...so i thought making an iMovie would be the easiest way..and hey, couldn't resist the Adam & the Ants song!..))
