Indeed Mr. Underby. Most of us do not, as Miss Writer has so eloquently explained. However, rp is a huge umbrella and how do you determine which one was the "best", which person performed "best" in which rp? If you leave it up to voting, it will, ...

but the side consequence of giving an award for a machinima? We could hold an annual film festival that need not be relegated just for "Babbage".

Unfortunately, I have to agree with Book and Doc on this.. and I agree with Ceejay. If you're going to do an "Oscars" style award, do it for machinima. You can still have those categories for that, and will encourage people to stretch themselves f...

Oh, my dear Miss Capalini... I had known of the demise of your parents from the insidious cholera outbreaks in India, but I had no idea of the ill treatment you had suffered at the hands of your merciless greedy uncle. This explains a great deal to me. Were I only able to give some measure of thanks to the "lady down the lane" for perhaps without her you might not even be in Babbage today.

My dearest Miss Capalini, I am the one who should thank you. I enjoyed our time together talking 'shop' immensely. A charming young lady should never apologize for contributing so much to a pleasant social gathering. I look forward to more such occasions.

I also have a technical question for you, the next time we can speak.

The pleasure was entirely mine, ma'am. I look forward to continuing our conversation at a later date...especially the part involving our mutual interest in weaponry.

My most sincere thanks for everything you have done at Ruby's, Miss Capalini. I do believe we have had a successful to do!
It does my heart wonders to see you laying down your saw and hammer for an evening of fun. I can think of no one more deserving.

What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
The quality of people that tend to be in Babbage and the Steampunk sims is just amazing. They are inventive, creative and all around nice people.. The beauty of the merged technologies, the dark industrialization.. I stumbled across New Babbage by accident and was lucky enough to find people that enjoyed the same things I did. I also discovered that I had been a steampunk fan long before I knew what it was, complete with art I made years ago of brass embedded widgets in dark wood tones.. I've been in love with it for years.. New Babbage has been a wonderful experience.. so much so I became a resident. XD
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
Born in Kentucky to a wealthy family, her father became a missionary shortly after her birth uprooting her family to colonial India, much to the rest of the family's disapproval. When she was 9, her parents died in one of the many cholera outbreaks. Not having any other contacts, she was sent to her estranged Uncle Chadsworth Capalini in Lexington, a carpenter. Not a kind man, and not having any other children, he took her regularly to his woodshop and had her do base work for him.. Frequently drinking, he blamed her father for the family's breakdown and regularly beat her and withheld her supper. Her only solace was in sneaking away in the evenings to a kind woman down the lane who continued her education and often gave her books to read.
As Canolli grew, her attention to detail in the woodworking was attributed to the Uncle and his business became known for high quality furniture and chests. Not wishing to lose a valuable commodity, her Uncle kept any suitors away. Uncle Chadsworth became more reclusive until no one saw him at all, though Canolli would often work in the woodshop and relay messages for the business. Shortly after her 25th birthday is was discovered that Uncle Chadsworth had disappeared and suspician was cast upon the young woman. The store was closed and Miss Capalini disappeared.
Seven years later, she appeared in New Babbage.. At first, constructing a chair here and there and donating them to the New Babbage Geographical Society.. commissions began being asked for. She began saving her money and within six months was able to open her own store. Though a bit severe and aloof, she cares a great deal about the treatment of the children in New Babbage, particularly the mistreated urchins. She has a staunch mistrust of religions (being impressed upon by natives in India and having issues with christian ideals because of the death of her parents). She disapproves of excesses, particularly in alchohol.. and generally carries a bit of food on her person in case she meets an urchin.. Friendly, with a soft southern drawl, but wary of crowds, she gets along well in New Babbage. Particularly because no one asks any questions. Certainly not about her past and not about the hammer she keeps upon her person at all times.

A Remodel for an Old Face

When I stumbled into New Babbage over a year ago, I immediately fell in love with the Canal district. The stonework, the buildings, the people...

One building in particular always stood out to me as singularly identifying Babbage, at least in my mind. Mr. Cornell Mondrian's Laboratory.. and over the course of my first several months in New Babbage, it was there I spent most of my time. When Mr. Mondrian sold me the property, I begged him to let me keep the buildings as they meant so very much t… Continue

Land available for purchase

I am currently acting as contact agent for ArthurConan Doyle in regards to the disposal of his property. Mr. Doyle is currently engaged in other projects that is demanding more and more of his time. As I am usually in Babbage, he has asked me to facilitate this process in his absence.

There is a 2048 plot of land available for purchase in the Babbage Canals, near Ruby's. It currently has 4 stores/tennantment apartments upon it. The tennants are aware that the land is available, but I would ask… Continue
