Thanks AC for clarifying, interesting precedent though.

thank you for replying Wildstar, it's nothing personal, was just...confused, since it was, in title at least, a shipbuilding contest :) Apparently no-one else is clear either...

ah, I like that one (and I'm not brown nosing)

On another point, is Wildstar Beaumont and Martina Lewsey the same person? If not, how can Wildstar win a shipbuilding contest with an a presumably purchased ship? I apologise greatly if I have somehow misunderstood this.

Well done to all who organised and took part in this event, I really enjoyed this set of events - so wonderful to see all the tall ships and mad submarine designs. Would be great to see more tall ships in Babbage on a regular basis, the Victorian...

What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
I've been fascinated with Victorian technology and aesthetics for quite some time - Brunel, The Great Exhibition, even art such as William Morris. I see Victorian Technology everywhere (now I have a trained eye for it) living in London, particularly travelling on the Victorian London Underground everyday.

Having wandered around the vast Caledon continent I found myself somewhat lost and disorientated, and was pleasantly delighted to find the smaller and somewhat darker in mood Babbage and immediately fell in love with it. After having reinvented myself from filthy half naked engineer (got kicked out of Phats for being too scruffy) to Victorian gentleman (too rigid and formal) to a hybrid of both that I now am, Babbage was an ideal new home after becoming tired of the 3d myspace that is a great deal of the mainland.

I at present have a an ironclad moored and a submerged plot in the Vernian Sea, which I am building at present.
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
Elfod Nemeth is a man with a dark past and uncertain future. His origins are avoided in discussion but suffice to say he seems not of this age. He bides his time building everything from the mundane (such as buildings) to his true love, devices for defence against the supernatural. These items are used in his primary role - defending humanity from the terrors lurking just out of sight and mind.

Sometimes that means actually fighting these forces, but more often it's stopping other humans from awakening these sleeping intelligences beyond our understanding - it is rumoured that Elfod is a senior member of the Miskatonic Overwatch Committee.

A fast friend in a sticky situation, Elfod isn't always starkly serious and is more than happy to down tools/grimoire to enjoy an evening of carousing or other merriment when the opportunity proffers itself.

See it while you can...

I've decided after a few weeks consideration to scrap my pier in the Vernian Sea.

I'd wanted a pier for a long time, but alas I never had the opportunity for a plot that is actually joined to the land... a pier in the middle of the sea, no matter how cunning, does not work practically.

So I will be demolishing the pier next week, so go see it while you can, if you so desire. Once demolished I plan to build something new and...well wait and sea, once other commitments have been first fulfilled.… Continue

One never knows how big Gremlin feet are, and an assumption cannot be made based solely upon their shoes. I have, personally, never seen a gremlin's foot..
