“Someone's had to much milk? Or Rum? XD” I'm afraid that Miss Ceejay’s knighting procedure involves more than just her touching one's shoulder with an absinthe bottle. Said bottle is full when the knighting begins but quite empty when the knighti...

What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
I arrived in New Babbage, after a long and unexpected journey, just as ground was breaking on Babbage Square, the first section of the city to be developed. I found myself stuck there for a spell and decided to make the best of it. One of the necessities lacking at that point was an abundant source of steam power. I set about straight away to build a steamworks to supply myself, and any others not in a position to generate their own, with a large and reliable source of high quality and highly pressurized steam.
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
I am the proprietor of the KAHRUVEL STEAMWORKS in the southwest corner of Babbage Square. My great grandmother, Cessadia Thetan, and I are the Facilitators of the New Babbage Community Stockyard in the Industrial District of Babbage Square.

This old moving picture shows New Babbage when it was just Babbage Square. Lot of old buildings pass by in the background as we tour the region in Mary Edison's wonderful steamship, the Aonghus. You can see the framework just being constructed on the Ginsberg Department Store and the steample of the church that used to be in the NE corner of the Square, among many others.

Not Past Care, But Time To Focus On Other Matters

21st of July, 1881

As the New Babbage Advisors prepare to hold the final meeting of that first group, I find it necessary to explain my absence from the group's activities.

In May, I submitted my Letter of Resignation from the Advisory Group to both Clockwinder Tenk and Maceholder Cleanslate. I regret any inconvenience this has caused (or may cause) to members of the Advisory Group, Babbage Square residents or the greater number of New Babbage citizenry. May I extend a sincere thank you to tho… Continue

Surveying The Damage

18 January, 1881

This is what greeted me upon my return to the City yesterday. A gaping hole in the Kahruvel Steamworks and smoke billowing from the cavity. I had been away for a few days and had forgotten to take my gini with me. Needless to say my great grandm… Continue

Very pleasant to see you here, Mr. Jack. I'm afraid we haven't had the opportunity to meet again after our initial introduction. Please, the next time you are in Babbage, stop by my place and have a cup of tea.

Now Mr. Jack...any chance we could have steaming manhole covers for sale or as a wee giftie?
Mr. Fabre and i were admiring the old ones that used to be supplied by former residents that he has on his land (created using the waterfall something or other).....but i would think your Steamworks would relish the advertisement of a Kahruvel Steamworks New Babbage addition that residents could add to their land... much like Mr. Gatsby's gas meter! just a thought!
