Why... I do think It may be just precisely like that Gus! (I may have to kipe that pic, if you don't mind sir. Absolutely love it!)

Oh! Can't believe I missed this one! Remi would almost definitely be played by Vincent price.

((Yep. I totally will. And now I know I have at least a week to prepare. *grin*))

That is correct, sir. There is absolutely no credence to the rumors regarding people resembling fish hailing from down Armada way. On a separate note, I highly recommend a vacation to the deeper parts of the Vernian. This time of year I hear it is...

That was a truly bang up time. Thank you all for hosting us. I do hope you will have somewhat better luck next time. Well, perhaps not. It is a pity that the local militia was unable to destroy even our smallest ship, though. Almost makes me feel ...

Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
As much as it appeared to, the Great Storm did not catch Thursday by surprise. A man in his position had available to him more than the common knowledge. He was privy to the musings and charts of some of the most able navigators and meteorologists in the riding. As the storm shook the foundations of Armada, Remington pressed his way through the driving rain into one of the small ironclad refitted skiffs that he had moored around the island. No amount of figuring could determine the exact impact the storm would have, but he knew there was no better chance of escape. A small, but tough boat would slip unnoticed in the deluge. Remington Thursday was not by habit a gambling man. There was little he found necessary to leave to chance, even in cards. On this occasion, though, his 'best guess' of a port of exit paid off in ways that surprised even him.

For many years, he had aspired to quiet power. The kind of power bartered in back rooms and negotiated quietly over drinks. Remington Thursday had no need for fame or glory and no severe want for riches, though he was never known to turn them away. And now, before him, was a small, broken piece of civilization screaming for hope, clamoring for leadership. All he needed was a figurehead...

I just want to say...

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that the roof.. the roof... the roof is on fire.
I, and I suspect many of my colleagues, am firmly in the "We don't need no water, let the motherfucker burn" camp.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

In Honor of Gus

OK. Ignore the first bit. I will tell you when to start paying attention.
Apparently I have to write some doodly bit here at the beginning, or offensive things will be listed on the front page. I don't want to do that. Some folks have delicate ears, and I respect that. I do. But in this case, I think a blog is warranted.

NOW you can pay attention.

We have all been a bit stressed lately, it seems.
So, by overwhelming public request, and in Honor of Gus,
please step forth in support of our comra… Continue

Events in the Disappearance of Mr. Thursday ((irregularly updated))

I am so very tired. I should sleep, and yet I must set these strange, horrid events to paper, lest I forget. Already so much seems to have been little more than a dream.
It seems so long, now. Only a month ago I was deep into research. I had found tales of a plant growing in southern Africa being used as a treatment for Cholera and Diphtheria with great success. Bent on studying this herb, I took passage. I took a contract with a ship as a Doctor. They were in need, and I know enough of medicine… Continue

History of the 'Necklace of Harmonia'

Herein lies what can be gleaned of this ancient amulet from ancient Greek history. Much of it is reproduced here of whole cloth.

The Necklace of Harmonia was a fabled object in Greek mythology that, according to legend, brought great misfortune to all of its wearers or owners, who were primarily queens and princesses of the ill-fated House of Thebes.

Hephaestus, blacksmith of the Olympian gods, discovered his wife, Aphrodite, goddess of love, having a sexual affair with Ares, the god of war. H… Continue
