What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
I have been RPing in many other different kinds of sims for quite some time now, but very recently developed a fascination with Steampunk. I am now anxious to learn all that I possibly can about this amazing culture!
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
Sylvie comes from a long line of brilliant, albeit eccentric and slightly cooky, scientists. Her father is an Italian inventor who fell in love with her English mother while studying in London. With his new bride being unwilling to travel too far from her ailing mother, Sylvie's father decided to leave behind his life in Italy and settle in England. He quickly gained employment as a professor at a local Industrial Arts Academy. From an early age, Sylvie showed an aptitude for science, particularly chemistry. After her mother died from a rare and untreatable bone disease (the same disease which claimed her own mother's life some years prior), Sylvie decided to dedicate her skills and her life to medical research. Unable to cope with the loss of her mother, Sylvie's father gave up teaching and returned to Italy. Sylvie's research has taken her all around the globe, never really settling down; until she happened upon New Babbage. She felt a strange and wonderful connection with this place, so it was no difficult decision when it came time to determine where she should call "home." Sylvie still occasionally sets off on various travels, but now never stays away for too long. She hopes to gain a position in the hospital where she can finally put some of her vast pharmacological knowledge to use.

For Red...(freebie happiness!)

...or anyone trying to live on an L budget, those brand new to SL, or folk who simply like freebie joy! I was exploring the aethernet today and came across a few sites with some great info on where to find freebies, dollarbies, and even lucky chairs. Some of them even have Halloween themed hunts that can lead you to some nice treasures!

I also included the links to On Rez as well as X-Street (the artist formerly known as SL Exchange). Just type "freebies" in the search field and you'll be rewar… Continue

Mummies, Marriages, and Murderous Fruit!

Well, October certainly is shaping up to be quite the interesting month in New Babbage! And we're little more than a week into it! We have, what appears to be, a reanimated mummy searching for a stolen gem, a patch of attacking pumpkins (Django's connection to which has yet to be determined), and the apparent return of a rather fiercesome and merciless part-lycan. I do hope that these things are sorted out by next weekend for the Masquerade Ball, though. It simply would not do for all of Miss Br… Continue

Sorry about the water in the first one; it was near a fountain. The very last one is the 37 prim...that's my favorite! My second favorite is the blue one. The green looks dirtier in person, but still might be a tad too "clean" by Babbage standards.

Anyway, any feedback is appreciated!

well, my 2 coppers is the first one and the last one. I like the large second story verandas, good for launching missilesoutdoor teas and the like. Not sure what they look like inside, that might be a deciding factor as well. There is a lovely house near me in Port Babbage owned by LunaRai, don't know who makes it, but if you are inworld you might take a peek at it and see if they make any you'd like...

I love the first one. Lots of room for lounging with your neighbors (I'll bring the absinthe!) and there's plenty of room for a cannon on the top deck! Which you JUST might get as a housewarming present! :D

So enjoyed the tea on Saturday! Your home is so lovely and you were a gracious hostess. Sorry I had to run off to tend to a friend who had suffered a rl tragedy, but I had a wonderful time.

Thank you for the kind welcome Miss Franizzi! One of the things that I have enjoyed about lurking on the Babbage boards has been how welcoming everyone seems to be.
