Prim Perfect Tackles Wolf Mountain

As a Prim Perfect staff writer, I am very pleased to announce the publication of our Christmas 2009 issue. Personally, this is my second favorite issue ever (the Halloween issue last month still rates as my personal fave.) Winter on Wolf Mountain... with a side trip via motorcycle to Route 66. It's all here, in droves. The photography is astounding, the writing is great, and really, the fact that we stuffed one magazine full with good solid information nearly all about ONE region pays testament… Continue

Manadatory Corny Title: I Could Have Danced All Night!

Well..... I could! Last nights Formal Uniform Ball at Piermont Landing was, in my own personal view, the best ball I have ever attended there. Why? Thanks for asking. Hey, stop running! I have a list for you! CEEJAY'S LIST OF WHY THE BALL WAS WONDERFUL: 1. Upon arrival, I had but a moment to scan the room before Mister Unlikely Messenger politely offered a dance in private IM. How wonderful! We shared a dance through a few songs, during which he made delightful conversation. We then parted way… Continue

Just a Simple Evening of Drinks at Loki's... Goes Awry

[Continued from Tinus Koskinen's Barred by Some Otherworldly Force] Ceejay has far too much to write about, her head is near bursting with information, and though she cannot write it herself with her broken arm, she decides to dictate the events of last night in order to preserve them once her memory starts to fade. Due to the nature of these events and not wishing to cause alarm or draw ridicule fromContinue

How Stuff Escalates - New Babbage Style

In which the illness of Ceejay's typist today somehow results in Ceejay facing down her most current greatest fear. To see how this goes down, be on the sidewalk outside the CocoaJava Cafe today at 4:30pm slt. Those faint of heart may wish to remain at home. The following transcript is culled from Steampunks chat earlier today. Caesar Osterham: I shall sacrifice a trolley to your typist's speedy recovery Ceejay Writer: Thank you Caesar! Caesar Osterham: Now I just need to find a .600 Nitro E… Continue

Them's The Breaks

(This is long. It's my attempt to patchwork together various roleplays from last night and my own narrative of events.) I have only myself to blame for what happened. Truly, just because it was called the “Absinthe Ball” did not mean I needed to try to fill myself up toes to nose with the stuff... but I did. I vaguely recall leaving the ball after telling others I was walking home to Babbage, which would have been impressive, but as I really cannot walk on water, I was taken pity on by others l… Continue

New Babbage - As Seen On TV

What happens when two talk show hosts attempt a 'routine' interview in New Babbage? What could possibly go wrong? Got 25 minutes? Not easily frightened? It's Halloween, but surely that is just a coincidence..... or is it? Designing Worlds - New Babbage Edition Continue

Home Again

Shortly after the production of "The Trains Don't Run Under Clockhaven" this past Tuesday evening, I suffered a collapse due to complete physical and mental exhaustion. I think I may have overdone it at Burning Man this year! I slipped quietly out of town and checked myself into a small spa in the countryside. Three days of communing with nature, gathering herbs, resting, taking the warm spring waters and eating lots of fresh healthy foods helped restore my vigour. (I would have been restored t… Continue

Exhaustion....

What with the recent move of the Cafe over to Academy, and the sudden introduction of some futuristic form of entertainment called 'television' upon my mind, I find myself quite exhausted! I will thus retire to a small, hidden location, along with an ample supply of absinthe and opium, and try to take comfort from the ways of the Anasazi Indians. These cliff dwellings are intriguing. Not at all like Babbage, but perched in a cleft in a cliff high above ground, certainly they do cause a soul to w… Continue

Prim Perfect's Halloween Issue

The Halloween issue of Prim Perfect is out! I've been sooo anticipating the release of this one, as it's possibly the most fun I've had yet writing for the publication. Hanging out with Ceres Eilde and Cutea Benelli was a hoot - and roaming the strange and dark lands of Arkham, Dunwich and Kingsport was the scariest fun I've had in a long time. You are really going to… Continue

A Moving Experience

It was a day like any other day. I'd just finished sweeping the floor of the CocoaJava Cafe, when I began to experience that strange sensation of someone looking at me. I turned around... no one. The feeling continued... I looked downward. From somewhere in the vicinity of my kneecap, Clockwinder Tenk was smiling up at me. In a charming way. This could only mean one thing and that one thing was not flirtation. He wanted something of me. "Okay, Cheshire smiling wee one. What do you wish of me?" I… Continue

Regrading: Babbage Terraforming Echoes Seattle's Past

I was looking for some info this morning and stumbled into some fun history and pictures. Seattle, Washington, at one time, had another hill. Denny Hill. But the sim owners, er, city engineers brought down the entire hill. The area is now known as the Denny Regrade. Wikipedia entry -click into the pictures, they're great I love this pic. So surrealContinue

Seemed apropos as I have been running around like a chicken without mine this week...

Need a fast, fun costume for Halloween? My friend Gumi Yao's put her Headless Cape out on Xstreet. If you've daydreamed about walking around carrying your head in your hands, $L98 will make that dream come true! I have a happy daydream of every urchin in Babbage running around like this. :D Continue

Ceejay and the Clock: Confession

[Continued from Ceejay and the Clock: Realization] I feel a twinge of guilt as I pick up my memoirs, and brush the sooty dust off the cover. Life in Babbage means living with the sneeze-inducing stuff, though I honestly don't mind it much, but right now it's a reminder that what was once a daily habit, writing in my memoirs and chronicling my life, has fallen by the wayside. I have instead plunged myself into… Continue

Chocolate. Coffee.

The next time I post in this blog, it should be back to Exciting Tales of Babbage! Thrill to the continued intrigue and adventures of Ceejay and the Clock... you have a few days to get your smelling salt supply replenished before the next installment. For now, I'm just putting out a message to friends that I am collecting in any information about Second Life events, displays, builds, lectures, or other resources that center around coffee, or chocolate. Yes I am serious. :) I blame this request… Continue

Some Time-Adjusting Going On

My time in-world will be much more limited in the future, and when I am in, my focus will need to be on ongoing projects and roleplays already going on with friends. I'll continue with all projects on my place but will be severely cutting back on gallivanting about and attending social functions. I'll probably lean more heavily on interactions in the Ning to get in my socialization. Thanks for understanding, everyone. Continue

The Day The Victorian Internet Was Knocked Offline

GEOMAGNETIC MEGASTORM: Northern Lights swept over Cuba and Hawaii. Telegraph offices caught fire. Earth's magnetic field shook for nearly a week. That's what happened 150 years ago today when our planet experienced a shocking "geomagnetic megastorm." Could it happen again? Today's story on http://spaceweather.com explores the possibilities. As the day unfolded, the gathering storm electrified telegraph lines, shocking technicians and setting their telegraph papers on fire. The "Victorian IntContinue

A Golden Podcast

First it was a concept (which grew out of a milk bottle, believe it or not.) Then it was a web comic, and now - it's a podcast! In the very first Quest for the Golden Prim podcast, Gabrielle Riel talks with Saffia Widdershins and PJ Trenton about the creation of the quest. The time for secrets...is at an end! Continue

The Primgraph Seaside Edition

Tis Summertime for many of us, and so it is with delight and seasonal greetings that we present The Seaside Edition of the Primgraph. This is issue #7. My pride in the publication and my gratitude to be lucky enough to be a part of this venture grows with each issue. In a delightful coincidence, Miss Breezy Carver blogs about new bathing attire for the seaside in… Continue
