The Mystery of The Floating dog (i.e. What on Earth??)

Yesterday as Dr Watson and myself were on a swimming trip in the Vernian sea we came upon a very curious sight!
Captain Red's Sir Gear the dog was floating in the middle of the sea all forgotten and alone!
I should not have thought to come upon such a creature in that very spot! Whales and squids perhaps...but not a friendly family pup.
Most peculiar...

I then contacted Captain Red, and found she had no idea how this occurence should have happened. This mystery shall remain unsolved I'm afraid.
Rest assured, the dog is now safe and warm :)

The Case of the Missing Sunken Gear Pup!

[face palms]...i heard tell he was missing...our dear Mayor informed me but i could not fathom that! [smiles wryly]...heh heh...and then i did a count of all my dogs...1 yellow lab Sir Gear Pup who guards the public park...check....then Sir Scurvy Pup is inside guarding my factory...check...and then my newest addition Balor the Irish Wolfhound is in my factory backyard..check!

so who was this floating missing pup!? well.....sure enough i get there and in Vernian Sea our intrepid sleuths Holmes & Watson (distractingly handsome in Polar Bear swim costumes!) had found one of my pups!
which one he was, how long he was there, how he got there, i don't know!

so thank you Holmes & Watson! and he's doing just fine..of course...it's odd. now i have 2...Sir Gear Pups...
how could THAT be!!?? was he cloned? did he slip into some time rift and get copied? is he a Sir Gear Pup from the Past or the Future!??? ....[shakes head] i'm just glad i've retrieved him ...i don't want to leave puppy prims unknowingly around!

Surely there is a market for guard dogs who can hold their breath for days? Perhaps you could breed from Sir Gear Pup Mark II? That is, if you can tell him from Sir Gear Pup Mark I.
