Inquiries into Library

I have received several inquiries into the possibility that I may be building a library in New Babbage. After purchasing a lot from Mr. Doyle, this is more than a possibility. I am currently drawing up plans to build a large Public Library servicing the general public with public domain works. There shall be several genres featured with the hope of continually adding works, including a wide variety of steampunk literature and work by residents of Second Life.

I shall continually keep an update going here of the progress of the new library which will be located in Babbage Canals.

If you have any suggestions, or would like to know more, please contact me.

Miss Capalini, are you familiar with Caledon library? I think Babbage library is great idea, maybe it can cooperate with Caledon library somehow, just for the case not to duplicate something which already exist.. or am I wrong and Babbage library will have a different point of interest?

My father Elihu is a member of the Caledon library system, and I see no reason be concerned about duplication of certain aspects of that project, while also making a New Babbage library with a unique perspective. My father and I both remain very excited about this project. My dear Miss Capalini, please understand you may rely on our services and perspective as you need them.

This is wonderful news! I have been asked by several visitors where they may find a library as well.

If you need any help with scripting for the library, please feel free to look me up.

I am greatly looking forward to finally having a library in Babbage. There may be scientific works of interest dealing with paleontology that could be housed in the library, with information regarding those works given out via a note card from relevant pictures in Professor Nishi's museum... which would then direct people to the library via a landmark. I believe most of the pictures in the museum are scripted with at least links to wikipedia pages, at the moment.
After our RL move (in just over a week), when we have our internets all up and running happily again, I'll see if I can direct you towards works of interest (providing you are interested in keeping such books in the library). I think it would be nice to have a Natural Sciences selection, as well as relevant works of 19th century literature.

I am very excited about this project! I can't wait to see what sort of books I can browse through as the library starts to fill with books! There are quite a few sources on the web for literature that would suit New Babbage. It would be much nicer to browse our own library for some of these works than it would be to dig through those websites, though. At least I would find it more pleasant.
