Looking for Inspiration - a call for help!

All,

I have had a large plot (1000 prims) in Babbage for some time now and after several abortive ideas have come up dry on the inspiration tank.

So, what would you, the residents/visitors of Babbage like to see? I looking for ideas along the following lines:

1. Something that adds to the beauty of Babbage
2. An amenity for anyone to use (ie. not a residence)
3. Something fun (though anything can be made fun with the right (insane?) point of view)

My latest thought was a library, but two esteemed residents already have that underway.

Actually Elfod, if you're finding the water plot to be a burden, I know Luna would much rather have a water plot than her parcel next door to the town hall. If you wanted a dueling field we could just have you add on to the park surrounding the town hall. The down side is that you would have half the prims (468). But the good news is you'd pay half the rent. If you're interested in this talk with luna or drop me an IM and I'll get you her full name, it's unavailable to me at this time since I'm not at my house.

LunaRai Gunn, I believe.

No, it's not a burden at all, I just need some inspiration for something to build, water not not.

Having the water just makes it a more interesting engineering challenge.

I'm not sure how practical this would be for your plot Elfod, and I'm just chucking ideas about, but something that I always thought was missing from Babbage is a proper seaside area - Babbage-on-Sea!

Hang on - how about, Babbage-on-sea-under-the-Sea?!!

I think this would be very fitting for a Victorian sim, after all this is the era when the British really discovered the joys of visiting the seaside. Do you remember the seaside scene in Sweeney Todd? I almost cried I thought that was so beautiful! :) I have put together a little montage of collected random seaside 'stuff' so you can see what I am picturing, complete with Mr Todd and Mrs Lovett top left.

I am seeing: flying fish with metal wings instead of seagulls, mutoscope machines, wonderful stripey bathing huts, deck chairs on the beach, amusements, and a promenade or pier to take the sea air on! :D

I'm not sure how well that idea would work either, since my plot is in the middle of the water - no beach front and implausible to build a pier. I could build a sort of barge/dock perhaps.

Not sure.

Nice montage though :)

Yeah I figured - an underwater pier just makes it a... structure! I just wanted to share my Babbage-on-Sea vision, maybe someone else would like to pick up the baton? :)

how about a glass dome over an underwater beach. with a wave machine and an automated candy floss maker you'd have the perfect holiday place for the submariner :)

Actually a garage/dock for submarines might look pretty nice, especialy if it doubled as a showroom/mall

I did actually build a sub base recently elsewhere, but had to remove it when my landlady decided to sell all of her sims.

I could refine it and deploy it perhaps.

*an automated candy floss maker*

YES! I'm liking that!

thoughts of eating dental floss makes me want to gag, I assume we're talking about what us americans call "cotton candy" ?

That would be it!
LOL yes, we call it candy floss in the UK - sweet, pink, puffy and on a stick, you know the stuff! ;)
