What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
Wandering around SL I stumbled into New Babbage, and haven't left since! My eclectic, curious and somewhat macabre taste led me to believe that this is where I feel most at home in SL. I also discovered Steampunk here - and suddenly it all fell into place! - My peculiar fascination for bits of old machinery and nonsensical inventions, a penchant for anything vintage, and the endless Tim Burton films :)
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
A friendly UK girl living halfway between London and Portsmouth, halfway between madness and genius, and halfway between heaven and hell. Graphic designer and novice writer.

I believe we met one night not long ago as you strolled with your friend...but welcome nonetheless ma'am.

Thank you for the pleasant conversation, Miss McBride.. I had not realized that the lovely jewelry near my husband's clinic was yours. Indeed I have been saving my pennies, considering your "Time Flies" brooch.. (I had considered it went with my clock music box), it is exceptional work. I shall have to poke my husband and hint now. ;)

Miss McBride,
I purchased your Time Flies watch today and it is truly splendid! I doubt that I will ever remove it from my person.

Hello again!
I love your idea for some sort of Sea/Cephalopod appreciation society, particularly the part about meeting in the Vernian sea. Recently I had been thinking about how much I'd like to start building some models in Second Life from Ernst Haekel's illustrations - there are some great pics here of his work: http://caliban.mpiz-koeln.mpg.de/~stueber/haeckel/kunstformen/natur.html
I love to imagine these in three dimensions, perhaps moving or with discreet particle effects (once I get a better handle on building in SL of course). I think that they would fit in with Babbage very well, but I hadn't really thought about where/how that would be - and sharing them with people at a group as you described sounds perfect. Also, I know there is at least one other Haeckel fan already in Babbage, as I've seen prints at the museum.
The timing is a little unfortunate for me as I'm going overseas on Wednesday and doubt I'll be able to have more than a few minutes here and there online after tonight, but I will definitely be very interested in getting involved when I return at the end of July.
Thank you again for my gorgeous little guy, he is beautiful, and if we don't catch up in the next few days then I'll look forward to it next month.
:-)

I just had a look and I particularly loved the Poisoner's Brooch - your work is lovely! I have sent you some inventory, I hope you enjoy it too :-)

I wait with baited breath for the arrival of the cephalopods! I do so hope to meet you in the streets of Babbage soon, for nothing would delight me more than to discuss the delightful creatures with a fellow enthusiast!

Thank you for the welcome. It looks like we have a nice little neighborhood here at Loner's Lane. I've haven't been around much (i've been trying to learn Blender to make sculpted prims), but i look forward to meeting you. I love the wing'ed watches, by the way.
