What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
My memory is poor, but I recall chancing across Mayor Shaunathan Sprocket and two fine young ladies; Molly Underwood and BeatriceOphelia Slade, I believe it was, picnicking within the Botanical Gardens of Straylight one afternoon. I commented them on their most wonderful garb and inquired as the place from whence they had traveled. They pointed me on my way to New Babbage, Antiquity, and Caledon. Upon first arrival in New Babbage, I felt immediately at home and was made welcome by Cornell Mondrian. I'd never heard the term "steampunk" before, but I had always been interested and enthralled by the Victorian era tales of wonder and invention such as those imagined by Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. After the aimless wandering of Second Life amongst the over-glitzy clubs, lagging commercial centers and fields of billboards, finding New Babbage felt like finding, and indeed, coming home.
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
My past revealed to me: Once under the belief that I was a demon (perhaps I was. Either with loss of memory or merely possessed), roaming the world, confused and attempting the seduction of the innocents, (indeed, I had even manifested certain powers and appearance as such), I have come to find that I am from a family whose traditions include naval service. But I had gone the path of the privateer, air pirate, and cad, and was branded as the black sheep of the family. Eventually, I found my way to New Babbage where I have been attempting to carve a life for myself as an industrial and portrait photographer, and have found much solace in certain individuals who have helped me to excorcise my demon, and put my sordid past behind me. I have moved out of my room over Ruby's pub in the Canal District and taken the flat over my gallery/studio at the wharf at Babbage Lovelace Industrial Park. I also run a meager tattoo studio located on the old houseboat at the wharf. Feel free to stop by any time. I am usually somewheres in the vicinity.
Founder of the New Babbage Polar Bear Club - after many absinthe induced stumblings into the canals, I felt quite invigorated and deemed that more appropriate garb might be needed. The club was born.

steaming about the Palisades

I'd been out about New Babbage testing the Lovelace Lightning over the weekend, and apparently, the machine is far too loud and brought the attention of Kandace Commons who questioned the street legality of such a machine. I must admit, the vehicle is much to loud and quick for the streets of Babbage, and it's machinery too small and ill-equipped to maintain any jaunts of significant distance or duration. It is purely a machine built for speed and use upon a road track. Nevertheless, 'twas a sho… Continue

I have three small household robots currently in therapy and repair that will be available soon. A floor scrubber, a shoe shiner, and a rubbish collector. There are already books available in the library in the bookcases nearest the comfy seating.

Thank you, kind sir, for suggesting two safe refuges. I have been about when I think others are asleep and it is safe. It is hard to be invisible.

You do, indeed, owe me a sky tour, Mr. Dagger. Call me when you have time to show me the town. I am curious about just how incorrigible you truly are.... *sly smile*
