What has brought you to New Babbage and SL Steampunk?
After more than a year of "Mainland" and traveling through the vast spaces of the grid, i visited Caledon a few times. My aroused interest in Steampunk and the strong feeling that this art could be a sister in spirit led me to a search for more technical evidence of it. During the harsh winter of 2007-2008, while iceskating (the only fast and safe way to travel under this conditions) alongside the romantic glow of the Bessemer converters somewhere in New Babbage, i met the first and only person nearby. Mr. Dagger showed me round and I witnessed firsthand this city-state of technic. The history, fiction and fine people of this city soon made me decide to stay.
Could you provide a bit of background about yourself?
Reaching far back into history, you would meet my Chinese ancestors, who invented the black powder and manned kites to spot their enemies.
In the not so far away past there is my Polish line of forefathers, one of which thought up a mechanical device to write letters that no one other than one’s beloved recipient could decipher.
My grandfather took me with him to his steelworkshop, allowing me to play with all the nice and shiny brass gears. While he was excogitating machines and tools, I couldn’t yet imagine what purpose they could serve.
My Kowloon-born mother told me stories of how, many years ago during wartime, she met Captain Nemo and his crew on a secret island to exchange documents and contraband.

After becoming an orphan (my parents had a slightly different world outlook than the armed bearers of the european idea of colonisation), I spent time aboard the Albatross, worshipping the gleaming metal and fine machinery, while earning my keep cleaning the decks and oiling the ball bearings.
And now, as I stand near the railroad tracks in New Babbage, listening to the big engine’s bells and whistles I have learned to love in the land of Sam Houston, I recall a time of laying rails for thousands of miles with my ball-and-chain gang of sisters, having been sentenced to five years of heat and dust due to the crime of stealing punched cards at CTR in Endicott.

Now that my world-traveling years seem to be over, I will settle down in New Babbage to forge my auspiciousness.

Vendor Design

for my tenancy business I use a rental vendor that can change the texture depending on its rental state. so i thought about a more victorian vendor variant than a rusty box with rivets. Continue

Why thank you Ma'am, we do so hope that you drop by for a visit. Since building has not started, we'll have to take refreshment on the deck.

I thank you for your welcome Miss Lubezki. Let us leave speculation to unwise gossip mongers, whose venomous tongues may prove yet prove too toxic for their own well-being.
